All photos displayed on the Gallery pages of David Haring Photography are available to buy as custom fine art prints.
Given the small size and resolution of the photographs displayed on my website, I realize that it is something of a leap of faith to purchase a full sized print based on such a relatively tiny preview, but your satisfaction is guaranteed. If you are not satisfied with any print you receive from me, just return it for a full refund.
I personally make all the prints using an Epson 2200 Printer. Prints come in two sizes (8x10" photo printed on 8.5x11" paper; or 12x18" photo printed on 13x19" paper), and are printed at high resolution on Epson Premium Luster Photo paper, using Epson Pigmented Ultrachrome inks.
Prints resulting from this combination of printer, ink and paper, when testing for longevity by an independent lab, (Wilhelm Imaging Research the industry de facto standard), have been rated to last for 71 years (when displayed under glass), or 48 years (when displayed, unframed under direct lighting) before noticeable fading and/or changes in color balance occur.
My current price for an 8x10" print is $25.00 plus postage and packaging, while the 12x18" size is available for $50.00 plus postage and packaging.
My website is not set up to accept credit card payments, so if you want to purchase a print, just contact me via email at: dharing@duke.edu. I will respond as quickly as possible with procedures for payment as well as a quote for shipping and an estimated shipping date.
A note about the lemur photographs in the Lemurs, etc. Gallery: All photos displayed here are of captive prosimians (lemurs, lorises, bushbabies, tarsiers) living at The Duke Lemur Center in Durham, NC. All wild born lemurs are from Madagascar, and although I have managed to get a few good shots of lemurs in their native rainforest habitat (These are displayed in my Madagascar gallery), in general I have found photographing captive animals to be a lot easier than photographing wild animals (Imagine that)! The Lemur Center is home to 21 different varieties of lemurs, lorises and bushbabies, most all of which are viewable in my Lemurs, etc. gallery. All photos were taken while the animals were in their home cages at the Lemur Center (or for a lucky fifty or so lemurs, their home forest), and no special procedures, beyond the offering of an occasional tasty leaf or flower, were used to encourage the animals to pose. A percentage of all print sale profits from the Lemurs, etc. gallery will go to the Duke Lemur Center.
A note about the Eno River photographs displayed in the Eno River Gallery: In the nearly thirty years that I have lived in the Raleigh/Durham area of North Carolina, the Eno River, accessible to all through a marvelous string of parks, has been a near constant presence and source of inspiration in my life. In this congested part of the state, the Eno River State Park offers a rare opportunity to escape the sprawl, and experience the subtle glories of an unspoiled Piedmont riverine ecosystem. About ten years ago, I moved into a small cabin overlooking a lovely stretch of the Eno. Now, I can photograph and kayak the river without having to travel more than a few yards from my back door. Nearly all of the photos on display on the Eno River gallery pages were taken on one of these brief excursions.
